BACKGROUND///
To celebrate Francisco Lindor’s arrival in New York, Oakley wanted to capture the energy of a city welcoming a new face of the franchise. Rather than approach it as a traditional athlete endorsement piece, the idea was to make it feel like a cultural moment unfolding in real time.
The concept centered on Lindor alongside a distinctive group of New York athletes who embody the ethos of the city: grit, style, confidence, individuality, and relentless drive. Using the city itself as texture, attitude, and character, streets, courts, training spaces, movement, and everyday urban energy all became part of the visual language. New York was meant to feel like an active participant in the story rather than simply a backdrop.
Execution focused on capturing authentic momentum: confidence, anticipation, community, and the sense that something new was arriving. Lindor was positioned not simply as a player joining a team, but as someone stepping into the identity and energy of the city itself.
