FOX SPORTS / 500 Miles
BACKGROUND///
Fox Sports tapped me for a big idea—their first Indy 500 after acquiring the racing rights from NBC. High stakes. Huge legacy. A chance to redefine everything.
We needed a tone shift—emotional, cinematic, and worthy of their new tagline: “The Fastest Racing On Earth.”
The concept fuses cinematic poetry with racing ferocity. Legacy written in asphalt.
At its core? A bold, music-led idea, anchored by the race’s most indelible image: the brickyard. Used not just as symbol, but as editing device—the shape becomes a visual motif, punctuating emotional moments, building rhythm, and driving us toward the final, heart-stopping payoff.
The Music: Peter, Paul & Mary’s “500 Miles,” reimagined as a haunting, trailer-style anthem. Once a folk song about longing—now a power ballad about pursuit. 500 miles from home is now 500 laps from glory.
I teamed up with music house Heavy Duty to transform “500 Miles” into a cinematic anthem, and partnered with longtime collaborators at LVLY for edit and VFX.
